Types of Advisories issued by IDENTPOL

All Advisories are issued directly to services and agencies involved in detecting or responding to specific threats.

Warnings and Alerts

Warnings concern imminent impact threats while Alerts concern threats under development. Both can be communicated through electronic media, fax or printed media. There is a classification of Green, Orange and Red Warning and Alerts corresponding to Green=Your attention may be required, Orange=Your action may be required and Red=Impact in your area is certain.

Publications

IDENTPOL through its Centre for Advanced Studies in Public Safety may print or publish diverse publications, including Advisory Manuals, Guidelines and Advisory Compendiums on matters related with the detection, evaluation and notification of threats as well as on preparedness and efficient response to those threats and the events they may cause.

Briefings

In specific situations, IDENTPOL's Liaison Personnel may provide or assist group briefings with specific purposes. These briefings may be in person or by teleconference depending on each particular situation. Basically a briefing will consist in conveying information or know-how which IDENTPOL may consider important to place in the hands of a particular service.

Seminars

When requested or when considered of interest to the advancement of the areas of interest of the Institute, its Centre for Advanced Studies in Public Safety may arrange seminars at local, national or international levels. The communication of an upcoming seminar and the attendance to each seminar will be regulated by the organizing agency, service or institute.
